Friday Fun Fact #5: Golf

I suppose most of us have heard of the sport of golfing. While the modern game of golf originated in 15th century Scotland, it seems the Romans and the Chinese were playing very similar games between the eighth and twelfth centuries. The idea of the game is to hit a small ball into a series of holes, using the least moves possible.

But where did the word GOLF come from? It is an acronym and stands for Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden!
